Ailish Hinchion

Ailish qualified in 2018 from the University of Limerick, Ireland and has worked at both Kings College Hospital and Chelsea and Westminster Hospital where she worked in the neurosurgery, neuro-oncology and neuro-rehab physiotherapy teams. Ailish also has extensive community rehabilitation experience including working within the Richmond Community Neuro Rehab Team (CNRT) and in her current role in the Wandsworth CNRT.

She has advanced skills in neurological rehabilitation for stroke and rehabilitation after neurosurgery including management of brain tumours and spinal cord injury. She also has experience treating progressive neurological conditions including neuromuscular diseases, Parkinson’s Disease, and Multiple Sclerosis.

Ailish has completed additional training in upper limb rehabilitation, electrical stimulation and advanced communication skills. She has specialist skills in the use of splinting, orthotics and hydrotherapy.

Ailish has a particular interest in supporting people with Multiple Sclerosis to meet the exercise guidelines and has completed research in this area. She is passionate about working with patients to achieve their individual goals and lead a meaningful life.
